Happy New Year!

resolutions

Ive had my provisional license for so long it expires in two years and the photo doesnt look like me anymore! Ive reached the point of being sick of waiting for buses in the rain only for them to be packed out, rising fares and i have a lot of stuff to take to uni. So ive updated my provisional license as ive moved house alot since getting it and im going to have lessons. im very scared but its got to be done.

Id love to head down to the beach with some fish and chips after school pick up and be able to drive to some of the small villages and look in the art galleries, with a car i can also take my own art to galleries for selling or exhibiting.

I got a great book for christmas off my amazon wishlist about printing fabrics. I spent ages on Spoonflower last night looking at designs and remembering i have a design in process waiting to be uploaded to their site. I really need to start more designing around my uni work.

What are your resolutions?

  1. I just started driving lessons again after about 15 years, this time in an automatic. I am loving it! Coincidentally I’ve also just been reading up on spoonflower about creating my own fabric. My other resolution was to try embroidery.

    • i love embroidery, especially on the machine! it feels like a real achievement when i finish a piece or get my fabric through the post. Well done on starting driving lessons again, i just said to my partner the other day id rather do automatic but im still really nervous.

  2. Sounds fantastic to have a car…I cannot imagine life without my wheels to take me places. Great resolutions, wishing you success in 2013. I just simply have said to myself I need to find balance in 2013…life is short and I need to follow my heart. Our daughter has moved closer (she has lived away for ten years) and time spent with her is incredibly important to us so finding balance is my resolution for 2013.

  3. I was terrified when I started learning to drive but, honestly, you’ll hardly notice as the fear fades away and one day you’ll just realise that you’re driving and not worrying or thinking too hard about it. As one sports company advises: just do it!
Also, on cold winter’s mornings, instead of being stuck on a breezy bus, you’ll be buzzing along in your car and realising why foot-heaters are one of the world’s greatest inventions! Best of luck!
